Quotas: how it works.
Quotas in Glow are managed through plans. A plan is a set of quotas applied to the channels you choose: responses arriving on those channels are screened against every quota in the plan, and the grids show every quota's progress. What a plan holds
- Applies to: the channels this plan manages. A channel that belongs to no plan is not screened.
- Quota enforcement: one switch that screens out respondents once a quota is full. It also controls counting, so read How counting and screening work before touching it mid-field.
- Quotas: as many interlocked and separate quotas as you need, each with its own targets.
Typical setups
One plan per market (an AU plan applied to your AU channels, a UK plan applied to your UK channels), or one plan per wave. A new plan's question-built cells start counting from zero, so a fresh wave gets a fresh plan; rows built on existing tags keep their tag's history.
The workflow
- Create the plan. Capture > Quotas, click the + next to the plan tabs, name it.
- Assign channels. Pick them in the Applies to dropdown.
- Add quotas. Interlocked for combinations (Age x Gender x Location), separate for standalone lists (family segments).
- Set targets. Type them in or paste straight from Excel.
- Switch enforcement on, then save. Counting and screening both start here.
Where progress shows
Each cell shows its count, and you can hover for the remaining number. Over-target cells turn amber. The channel cards on the Channels tab show each channel's plan and its over-quota tally. Counts are a snapshot from when the page loaded: reload for the latest before acting on them.
Quotas are not Targeting. On an Integrated Consumer Panel channel, Targeting chooses who the panel invites. Quotas cap and screen respondents after they arrive, and invite nobody. Set the sampling plan in the channel's Targeting tab; set hard limits here.
