What is the Numeric Scale Question Type?
The Numeric Scale question type allows respondents to select one from a range of numeric choices (not text choices) on a horizontal slider scale.
Numeric Scale Editor
- First, type in your question in the Question field.
- Then, if needed, edit the Start and End points of the scale, though 0 to 10 is the most popular.
- You can change the Unit from a simple number to e.g. '%' or '$' and more, similar to prefix and suffix, but this is optional.
- Steps determines how many numbers will appear on your scale and the size of the interval between each number.
- A preview of your scale will appear above the Semantic Differential so you know what it will look like.
- Finally, tick Semantic Differential to add text on the extreme left and right of your numeric scale so respondents know what the numbers mean.
Numeric Scale Preview
- If there are less than 20 steps, your choices will appear on a slider scale
- If there are 20 or more steps, your choices will appear in a dropdown
