MaxDiff Builder:

To create a maxdiff question

  1. Go to any survey.
  2. Create a Matrix question type and type in your question. Example: Of these benefits that your organisation could offer its employees, please indicate the benefits that have the most and least value to you?
  3. In the Statement fields, input a binary choice (i.e. 2 choices), e.g. best/worst, most important/least important, most value/ least value etc.
  4. In the Choice fields, input all the initiatives you wish to test and compare.
  5. Randomize your Choices (optional)

  1. Tick Sample Choices and input the number of choices p/set you want, e.g. 5 out of 11
  2. Tick Flip table axis
  3. Tick Unique Selection
  4. Click Save & close

You have now created the 1st maxdiff set 🎉.

To create multiple sets, e.g. 7 sets

  1. Duplicate your 1st maxdiff set by clicking on the 3-dot menu "..." in your question and selecting Duplicate.
  2. Repeat for however many sets you wish to show. So if you want to show 5 sets, then duplicate your question 4 times. If you have 7 sets, then duplicate your question 6 times
